Your students will enjoy making a 3 dimensional model of a chloroplast out of the colorful parts. They can use their model to look at the structure of a chloroplast and how this enables it to carry out the reactions of photosynthesis. The model is excellent for showing where the light and dark reactions take place.

Covers: thylakoids, stroma, grana, intermembrane space, outer membrane, inner membrane, photosystems, electron transport, proton pumps and ATP synthase. Can be carried out in class or at home.

The Model Making Kit includes enough materials for students to assemble up to 5 paper models working cooperatively. Using the ready-to-use materials provided with each 3-D model set, students first assemble a model to represent a structure or an entire system as an aid to develop questions and explanations. They will then generate data and observations that can be used to make predictions and communicate ideas to others.
